Jared Milarch grew up in the nursery business. Trees have been a part of his family’s tradition for generations. In 1998, Jared co-founded the Champion Tree Project and was involved with a myriad of high profile plantings across the United States.  Today he continues these deep rooted traditions by operating Milarch Brothers Nursery & Landscaping, a landscape design and installation firm in Copemish, Michigan, and by working with Archangel Ancient Tree Archive.

Jared has worked with Archangel from its very inception. He has aided in designing and building Archangel’s indoor growing facilities, collected genetic material, and propagated and planted thousands of trees. Jared Milarch officially accepted the positions of Executive Director and President of the Board of Archangel Ancient Tree Archive in August of 2012.  He shares a passion for the mission of Archangel and is determined to measure the organization’s success by the amount of good the trees are doing in the world. He believes Archangel will be able to provide real world solutions to global environmental challenges and is eager to put Archangel’s Champion genetics to work. Jared advocates best practices, legal compliance and transparency as the hallmarks of a well-run not-for-profit. As he continues to build the Board of Directors, he will seek out effective members who share these beliefs and will be able to pass them deep into the future.
