At a time of soaring temperatures and decimated forests, now is the time to act to save humanity’s place on this planet. When you look at the facts of how we have treated the environment, and in turn how the environment is reacting to what humans have done, you cannot help but become overwhelmed.
David Milarch co-founded Archangel Ancient Tree Archive, with a mission of propagating the oldest, largest, and most iconic trees for the purpose of functional reforestation. He will speak on Earth Day, April 22, 2013 at 7:00PM at Northwestern Michigan College in Traverse City, MI. The program is entitled Lost Groves, Champion Trees, and an Urgent Plan to Save the Planet. [pl_blockquote cite=”Paul Hawken”]“If you look at the science about what is happening on earth and aren’t pessimistic, you don’t understand the data. But if you meet the people who are working to restore this earth… and you aren’t optimistic, you haven’t got a pulse…”[/pl_blockquote]
David Milarch is showing us by example what can be done to restore the Earth. Now is not a time for preservation, but a time for restoration. He is working to restore the natural filter system of our air and water that only trees can provide. By working with these iconic forest giants, he is giving hope to all that know now is the time to do something big to restore faith in our chances.
The Earth Day talk will touch on the challenges we face, and the opportunities in our grasp to restore our planet we call home.
