The May 14-17, 2019 expedition to Crescent City, CA and Port Orford, OR was an incredible experience. We were pleased to see interest from the wider world, including teams from BBC, NBC Nightly News, and France’s TF1 Network (see the story on ARTE, the French/German television network) Jointly, those networks will reach over 500 million viewers. We collected the genetics of several massive coast redwood trees including the “Brotherhood” tree in Crescent City.
A few of our incredible climbers stopped for a photo in the “grove of titans” with a 2,000-year-old, 270′ high coast redwood, located near the California coast not too far from Crescent City, CA. No, these climbers are not photoshopped into this picture.
