Archangel Ancient Tree Archive is thrilled to share a beautiful new children’s book by our friend Ellen Dee Davidson, The Miracle Forest. This heartwarming true story, set in the village of Gaviotas in Colombia, resonates deeply with Archangel’s mission to restore and protect the natural world. The story of Gaviotas shows how humans when working in harmony with nature, can help the Earth regenerate in miraculous ways.
Like Archangel’s dedication to cloning and preserving the genetics of ancient trees, the community of Gaviotas faced many challenges in building a sustainable environment and re-growing a forest. Ellen’s book perfectly captures this spirit of perseverance and environmental harmony, making it a powerful educational tool for children. By sharing this story, Ellen inspires young readers to appreciate the delicate balance between humans and nature while sparking hope for a more sustainable future.
We had the pleasure of testing The Miracle Forest with children, and it’s safe to say they loved it! Through the eyes of the Gaviotas community, the book shows children how small actions can lead to big changes, a lesson we also embrace through our Living Tree Libraries. Just as Ellen faced obstacles to bring this inspiring story to life, we at Archangel have overcome numerous challenges to archive ancient tree genetics and plant them worldwide, helping preserve Earth’s biodiversity.
We encourage everyone to explore The Miracle Forest as a meaningful and accessible way to teach children about environmental stewardship. We are excited to partner with Ellen Dee Davidson in sharing this important message, and we hope her book uplifts and inspires readers, just as it has done for us.
