The Presidio is a natural oasis right next door to the big city of San Francisco. It’s part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area and is managed through a unique partnership approach. The Presidio is managed by the Presidio Trust, in partnership with the National Park Service. We also receive tremendous support from the non-profit Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy.
Archangel is honored to partner with the Presidio where we planted a grove of our ancient trees. Returning redwoods to the Presidio is a story about this effort.
The Presidio forestry team makes sure the Presidio’s trees thrive by replacing aging groves with healthy young trees. They have a comprehensive reforestation program that includes experimenting with clones of ancient California redwood trees.
