Tree Planted by Frederick Law Olmstead Cloned by David Milarch
Part of the mission of Archangel Ancient Tree Archive is to clone iconic trees to ensure their preservation. The Central Park Beech tree famously planted in New York City by Central Park architect Frederick Law Olmstead and cloned in 2008 with assistance of David Milarch, then of Champion Tree Project International, will be replanted in all five boroughs of New York City.
Interlochen Student’s Powerful Song
David Milarch had the opportunity to speak with Interlochen Center for the Arts students before they planted Archangel Champion Trees on Earth Day 2014. Interlochen music student Emily Spradling of San Francisco performed her powerful, beautiful, yet ominous song, ‘Superman.’
Champion Giant Sequoias Planted on Arbor Day 2014
University of Michigan students and faculty members have partnered with Chiwara permaculture and Archangel Ancient Tree Archive to plant twelve Giant sequoia clones from Champion old growth forest trees on the grounds of the Nichols Arboretum on Arbor Day 2014.
Worldwide Earth Day & Arbor Day Plantings
This Earth Day/Arbor Day week we are partnering with organizations and supporters worldwide to plant champion trees and help increase awareness of the need for reforestation, including the development of living archives comprised of clones of superior old growth trees.
Artist Donates Song Royalties to Archangel
So many artists are inspired to support Archangel Ancient Tree Archive with their creative talents. We are honored to be the recipient of the proceeds of a wonderful song by musician Jake Allan.
